How renting works
No application is needed to tour. Here's what to expect from first look to move-in.

Browse
Look through available apartments, save favorites, and compare up to three.

Quick prescreen
Before a showing, answer a few short questions for that apartment. Passing lets you book or request a showing. It is not an application, a reservation, or an approval.

Tour
Visit at a booked time, or request a time if none are posted. Touring does not hold the apartment.

Apply
If you'd like to move forward, apply through Zillow's rental application. Approval also considers positive landlord references.
- 5
Review
We review your application and follow up with you about the decision and any next steps.
- 6
Lease & move-in
If approved, we arrange lease signing and your move-in details.
Lease terms & first rent
Leases are usually month-to-month. The exact term for your apartment is confirmed in your lease.
First rent is sometimes prorated; sometimes your move-in day becomes your monthly rent due date, even after the 1st. Your initial rent amount and ongoing due date are confirmed in your lease.
